I have a bulb for an Epson 8500ub projector and I'm not sure if my lamp is bad or not. It is a little dim, but it also flickers , occasionally working fine. Could this be a bad lamp? Asked by James L. On Mar 24, 2023
Yes, it is most likely the bulb, since as the bulb ages it become worn. It could also be your projector. If you have your projector in eco mode, then it may cause less power to get to the lamp and cause flickering. So, you may need to switch you projector back to normal mode. Dust build-up in the projector may be causing the bulb to flicker, so clean the inside of the projector. You may need to replace the bulb, but if the screen is still flickering, then you will have to turn off eco mode or clean the dust out of your projector.
